Overview

If you could only do one trek in your life …

Probably the most famous trek in the world, our Everest Circuit itinerary includes every highlight this incredible destination has to offer.  Trekking agencies the world over refer to this as the ‘Ultimate Nepal Trek’ and we agree. Our adventure begins in Kathmandu where you’ll enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley and two nights luxury accommodation at the Radisson (or equivalent standard) Hotel.

From here we fly to the mountain airstrip at Lukla and enjoy incredible Himalayan views throughout the flight. We’ll meet our porters at Lukla and then commence our trek, staying the first night at Phakding, right by the Dudh Kosi river. The next day we arrive at the bustling Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar. At Namche we take in our first views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and numerous other Himalayan giants.

During our free day in Namche we’ll visit the local monastery and seek a blessing from the Lama before a visit to the Everest View Hotel later that morning. From Namche, we ascend slowly through Khumjung, Dole, Machhermo and arrive at the sacred Gokyo lakes.  With Cho Oyu looming above, we’ll ascend Gokyo Ri (5350m) which provides unsurpassed views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu (4 of the world’s 6 highest mountains). After a rest day in Gokyo we’ll cross the Ngozumpa glacier – the largest glacier in the Nepal Himalaya and then slowly ascend up and over the famous Cho La pass (5420m).  From here we travel alongside the Khumbu glacier all the way to Gorak Shep and the historic Everest Base Camp.

From Gorak Shep we have plenty of time to ascend Kala Pattar (5545m) and enjoy classic views of Everest, Nuptse and the Khumbu Icefall. Returning along the classic route, we’ll visit Dingboche, Deboche and the famous Thyangboche monastery.  After one more night in Namche Bazaar, we’ll trek back to Lukla  (after a night in Monzu) and enjoy a farewell party with all our guides and porters.

Our itinerary includes plenty of rest days allowing for safe altitude acclimatisation.  This is a moderate to challenging high altitude trek that will put you as deep into the heart of the world’s highest mountains as it’s possible to go without crampons and technical climbing skills. You’ll be treated to the highest standard of trekking amenities in the world with an exceptionally experienced team of guides and porters.
