FAQs
General FAQs
Who is Trek Climb Ski?
Trek Climb Ski is an Australian based adventure holiday company specialising in trekking, climbing and skiing holidays. We’ve been operating our Aspen ski tours for 18 years and in 2006 we expanded our business to include trekking and climbing expeditions in the Nepal Himalaya.
What is the difference between a Trek Climb Ski adventure and other adventure style holidays?
We are specialists in small group travel to Nepal and Aspen and our leaders & staff are simply the best available. The people who own Trek Climb Ski are the people who lead our trips. We don’t operate hundreds of trips a year because we couldn’t possibly deliver our personalised product on that scale.
Can you offer tailor-made holidays to anywhere in the world?
Our current destinations include skiing & snowboarding in Aspen (USA) as well as a range of trekking and climbing adventures in Nepal. We know we’re the best in the business for the trips & destinations we provide so we remain focused where our expertise is strongest.
Are the trip itineraries able to be varied?
Itineraries for our advertised trips are unable to be varied however we can (and often do) arrange individual packages (& dates) for individuals and groups upon request.
What makes Trek Climb Ski different from other adventure companies?
We believe our attention to detail, leadership, inclusions and value for money set us apart from the competition. For example, our Everest Circuit & Base Camp treks are often led by guides that have actually climbed Mt. Everest. Our Aspen ski program has been operating for 18 years and nobody has more experience guiding and instructing skiers in Aspen than we do.
What does Trek Climb Ski consider responsible travel?
In poorer countries such as Nepal, we take our responsibilities as a tour operator very seriously. We pay substantial garbage deposits for all our Nepal based activities and ensure we return all our hard waste in accordance with the requirements of the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC). We strictly adhere to minimal impact camping guidelines and we are always careful to ensure we leave 'no trace' of our visit behind. We take great pride in looking after our staff and all our Nepalese workers are properly insured prior to each expedition. Trek Climb Ski always pays above average wages to our Nepalese guides and porters and we ensure all our staff are properly equipped (clothing & equipment wise) on every expedition they undertake. On all our expeditions, the standard outfit for all our guides & porters includes sturdy hiking boots & socks, winter jackets and pants, gloves, hats, sunglasses and t-shirts. Trek Climb Ski also invests heavily in the constant education and training of all our Nepalese guides.
Nepal FAQs

We do require a medical certificate from all our guests to ensure you are in good health. Obviously, the fitter you are the more you’ll enjoy and get out of your trip. We also recommend a fitness program to all guests to ensure they are properly prepared for their adventure. Generally, a reasonable level of fitness will be acceptable for most trekking adventures with a higher level of fitness essential for trips involving climbing.
Do you cater for single travellers?
Yes definitely! Many of our guests are singles and enjoy the company of like-minded travellers on our group adventures. Accommodation is shared on a same gender basis with single supplement (accommodation) options available.
How much experience do I need if my adventure includes climbing?
Your safety will always be our number one priority and as such, some of our climbing adventures will require you to have a degree of experience. Our adventures vary in difficulty from easy to challenging level trekking, to introductory level climbing through to more advanced climbs which will naturally require more experience on your part. We are always available to discuss with this with you and we will be able to recommend a trip compatible with your experience. We often find our guests who have completed a trek soon wish to return with us to Nepal to challenge themselves further!
What clothing and equipment do I need?
As part of the booking process, we will provide you with a comprehensive clothing and equipment list relevant to your trip. We supply sleeping mats, down jackets and down sleeping bags for all our trips and all the necessary technical equipment for our climbing adventures.

How cold does it get in Aspen?
A typical ski day during January / February in Aspen will be in the minus 5 to minus 10 degrees Celsius range. That said, we experience a very ‘dry’ cold in Colorado and at this temperature the ski days are very comfortable and usually sunny. Some days are known to reach the minus 18 to minus 20 mark but these are very infrequent and we usually experience only one day like this each tour.
